On January 18th some of the biggest names on the internet participated in the biggest internet strike in history. The strike was against SOPA and PIPA, the bills which the US government are trying to pass to censor the internet.

The strike has been called "The Wikipedia Blackout" in many articles that I've read. Although Wikipedia is one of the biggest sites on the internet other companies Companies like Google, Mozilla, Reddit, Craigslist, Coolthisweek (you like how I threw that one in there?), Wired, Wordpress, and Tumblr to name a few showed their opposition to SOPA & PIPA on their web sites.

State senate servers are even reported to have gone down over 3,000,000 people emailed their local senate to voice their opinion.

On January 18th some of the biggest sites on the internet will black out in protest of the SOPA bill that's going through congress at the moment. The strike is being organized by Fight For the Future ( http://fightforthefuture.org/ ), a non profit organization against internet censorship. 

Coolthisweek.com will participate in the blackout. We are opposed to this law because it stands to limit individuals and small businesses from prospering on the internet. A customer in the Texas-based Alamo Drafthouse was ejected from the theater for using her phone during a film showing. After the incident she called the Alamo Drafthouse and voiced her dissatisfaction. This game looks amazing. 10 years ago I couldn't imagine a game that looked this good and now here it is. let's just hope that the gameplay is half as good as the visuals. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set for release on November 8th 2011.

The villian from Christopher Nole's newest Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises, is Bane, the very guy who broke Batman's back in the comic series in the 90's.
