Watching Movies & TV Online
It's the 21st century and televisions are becoming obsolete. Today a lot of people are watching movies online using services like netflix, blinkbox, blockbuster on demand and more. Television is even easier.Many networks offer you the opportunity to watch their content on their websites. These options offer better quality then sites like megavideo and XTshare, but they also either cost more money or force you to watch boring commercials.
Now, if you're going to use a streaming site to view movies online I suggest the you do a few things first:
- Use Firefox or Chrome for more stability and security than is offered by explorer
- Download a plugin to block ads. I suggest using adblock plus for firefox. It works wonders.
- If you're using megavideo, look into cacao web. This will help you if you're using megavideo.
- Join some forums online. I've provided a couple of links below and a short description of each.
Best and Worst Video Sharing Sites
Once you've done these things you're going to want to learn the sites which allow you to watch movies online. Here are some such sites and some information about each:
- Megavideo - offers better quality than other movie on demand sites but it has the annoying 72 minute time limit. Cacao web will help you with that.
- XTSHARE - Good quality but loaded with ads! If you're using adblock plus those ads aren't an issue.
- VidReel - just like XTshare. In fact, probably run by the same organization.
- VidBux - good quality, allows embedding, and even offers to pay you for adding videos. (I'd like to read a review of someone's experience using this program)
- Novamov - decent quality and speed.
- Apexvid - decent quality and speed.
- Videoweed - hit or miss. Sometimes it's really slow.
- VideoBB - avoid this one if possible. It's slow and intermittent (at least in my part of the world)
- Movshare - just doesn't seem to work on my computer.
This list is in order from best to worst. Keep in mind that this list was compiled assuming that you've taken the advice listed above.
Aside from Megavideo all of these services are riddled with pop-ups. I can't stress enough the greatness of an ad blocker.
How to Find Movies Online Using Google Search
If you can't find the movie you're looking for on either of the forums mentioned above or you simply can't be bothered it's easy to find what you're looking for using Google search. Here's what you do:
Go to Google and type in "<host > + <movie title for example >"
for example: "xtshare movie title"
Now, on the search results page check the URL of the top links and they should be a URL of the host name you entered.
This, unfortunately, doesn't work for all of the sites but it works for many of them. Fortunately, Megavideo is a favorite on forum sites, so if they have the movie or TV program which you're looking, there's probably one copy hosted by Megavideo.
Sites to Look Into
movie-nerd.com
This site has a really nice and really helpful online community. They don't have any ads or ask for donations. It's run by a couple of cool dudes and lots of active users and volunteers.
movie-forumz.tv
This site may be the biggest movie & TV forum online. It's high traffic forces the admins to beg for donations. These things eliminate the friendly experience which movie-nerd offers but sometimes they have rare titles that I can't find on Movie-Nerd or Google.

This is a Russian social networking site. You can find most films and music (in different languages) on this site. I suggest using google translate to navigate the page and change the language setting to English, if it isn't already set to English by default. Once you join the site you should search for a group called 'Watch original films (in English) without translations" In Russian that's 'Фильмы в оригинале(на английском). Без перевода.'
There are also facebook groups and blogs which provide links to watch movies and tv online.
